Does anyone know what the current cost is for a taxi to Ubud from the airport? Last time I was in Bali it was 170,000 rupiah, but with oil prices going up I wondered if it had increased?
Taxi - airport to Ubudhope you get an answer as Im also interested
Taxi - airport to UbudI%26#39;ve done it a couple of times in the last month--and paid 175,000 Rp plus tip. I believe that is also the %26#39;official%26#39; flat rate from the airport taxis. Hope this helps.
I paid R155,000 on the meter from Kuta to Ubud. On the return to airport, I managed to negotaite with a driver and for R200,000 he took me from Ubud to Kuta Sq for some last minute shopping and then to Jimbaran Bay for a seafood lunch before going to the airport. So, R170,000 is just about right.
Hi , I arrived in Bali last Wednesday and had my usual driver Eddy Kus collect me (findkus_usa@yahoo.com, www,myspace.com/baliexplore) and take me to Ubud for 150,000. Jet star was an hour late so I texted him from Sydney so he didn%26#39;t have to wait around. Strangely the delay was an hour, but we arrived in Denpasar only half hour late. I texted Eddy as soon as the plane stopped and by the time I was out - about a half an hour, he was there. I%26#39;m off shopping with Eddy tomorrow and have him for 4 hours for 200,000rp but it%26#39;s always a generous 4 hours and he takes me to places where few tourists go and he takes no commission.
Last time I bought a bronze statue for half the price of it in an Ubud shop, and at the end of the negotiation, Eddy said he coould have got another 40,000 off with harder bargaiing, but the factory owner %26#39;has to make a living too%26#39; and it was already a good price. So I respect his ethics. OK, I am going on but I%26#39;m in a free internet cafe and and appreciating not having to pay. Enjoy your trip.
Dear Billienz,
There will be a surcharge if you using Blue bird taxi to go to Ubud from airport around 30% from the rate that shown on the meters.
But if you go woth Airport taxi they will charge you around IDR 250.000 - IDR 300.000
