Ubud accommodation

I want to stay overnight in ubud. I am looking for somewhere with a view over rice paddies but close enough to walk to restaurants, markets etc. Do not want to pay more thatn $200 per night. Can anyone recommend anywhere? Heard the Hotel Tjampuhan was good - anyone been there and is it close enough to walk everywhere as I will have my 70 yr old mum with me.

Ubud accommodation

Tjampuhan is nice hotel and close to market. have komaneka hotel also very nice.

Ubud accommodation

Can highly recommend Honeymoon Guesthouse in Jalan Bisma, about a five minute walk from the main street. The guesthouse and their sister guesthouse Second Honeymoon are located down a quiet lane with rice field views from some of the rooms. You also pass a rice field as you walk down the lane. The guesthouses are owned by an Australian ex-pat Janet de neefe and her Balinese husband Ketut who also live on site. The tropical gardens are magnificent, there%26#39;s a fabulous swimming pool, beautiful rooms with four-poster beds and marble bathrooms and scrumptious breakfasts from Janet%26#39;s own restaurant Casa Luna (located in the main street). I cannot recommend these guesthouses enough. Hotel Tjampuhan is nice but it%26#39;s a good 10-15 minute walk from the main street and it%26#39;s all uphill, probably not at all suitable for your mum, especially in heat and humidity. The guesthouse is very resonably priced. Janet also conducts a world rewnowned cooking school Casa Luna Cooking School from the guesthouse and I highly recommend it! Great fun for you and your mum. You can email them direct at casaluna@indosat.net.id

Thanks for that, I will try and email the guesthouse and see what they have to offer.
