We are travelling to Kuta at the end of April and would love to see the Borobudur temple in Yogyakarta.
Is it best to book a overnight sunrise tour online now or wait till we get to Kuta for more choice.
seen a trip with balistarisland.com for 2 days 1 night for US$400 each (all flights, transfers, hotel and food)
Or is it best to get our own flights and and just book the trip and hotel with a tour company approx US$200 cheaper to do this
Not sure what best to do
trip to borobudur yogyakarta from kuta?
No need for a tour. Easy and cheaper to do on your own. Book flights with a TA in Bali. For hotels there are 3 basic choices for location, in Yogya center city, on the northern suburb of Yogya about 45min drive from Borobudur or right near Borobudur. The third is my first choice but if you also want to see Prambanan and Yogya then perhaps the second maybe best as I find Yogya has little appeal for me. You can book a hotel on the internet or through the TA in Bali.
Suggest staying two nights to enjoy the experience rather than rushing about.
The hotel can arrange a car and driver for you if you stay in Yogya and cabs are fixed rate and inexpensive at the airport.
trip to borobudur yogyakarta from kuta?
We did a one day tour from Sanur to Yogyakarta last time we were in Bsli.
Very early start and very late home.
We booked it through a travel agent in Sanur.
If we go again, we%26#39;d definitely stay overnight.
Borobudur is one of the most amazing places we%26#39;ve ever seen.
Prambanan is also worth seeing, although it was damaged during an earthquake a few years ago.
You could do this far cheaper by yourself.
Check the prices for the flights on www.mandalaair.com. Then buy a guidebook like Lonely Planet and start planning.
I don%26#39;t see any possible reason why you would do this as a one day trip, unless you were really pressed for time.
