Poppies

Going to Bali for 3 weeks in May. All accomm has been booked except last 4 days. Have checked with Poppies and they are available, just want to know if any has recently stayed there and if B/fast is ok and rooms clean etc.

All reviews look great on TA but just want to make sure before I book, we usually stay at Kartika

Plaza in Tuban but doing lots of different hotels on this trip

Thanks in advance

Poppies

Poppies is one of the original Balinese styled hotels, well maintained and cleaned with little touches you won%26#39;t find in the larger hotels. The layout means each room is private and you get the feeling you are in your own mini villa. It is very quiet and once inside the walls you wouldn%26#39;t know you are in noisy Kuta.

They don%26#39;t include BF but have a menu to order night before and includes things like jaffles and latte and is not that expensive, they have all the usual breakfast things on the menu.

Poppies is the only hotel in the area I would stay in, have stayed many times and have never found fault.

Poppies

Yes have to agree, Poppies is the most beautiful tranquil place in Bali. The rooms are immaculately clean and grounds are painstakingly hand manicured. So quiet and peaceful inside. Its hard to imagine that you are in the centre of Kuta. You will be very happy and comfortable staying here. Very good value for money, good security and could only be described as paradise. Im also a repeat customer at Poppies, once you stay once you always return. Some guests I met have been coming to Poppies for 20 years. Dont worry about breakfast its really cheap. You can either go to the restraunt and have it added to your room tab, or have room service in your private garden.I dont know why its so cheap because its like villa accommodation without the pricetag.

Hi Delva

We are booked to stay at Poppies Cottages next month. We usually stay at the Santika, but they did not have availability at the time we enquired, plus it was becoming too expensive especially with the Aussie dollar to the US dollar.

Poppies Cottages were recommended to us, and while initially being concerned about the busy location, everything we have heard since has supported what the above posters say - that it is very peaceful and quiet behind the walls.

We were looking for bungalow or villa style accommodation with a Balinese feel, and this seems to have all that for a fraction of the price of comparable properties.

I will post a review when we return (end of April) but that will probably be too late for you.
