Jakarta weekender

Looking at doing a 3 day weekender in Jakarta from Australia.

We would ideally be looking for a casual hotel or apartments with access to tourist spots. I%26#39;ve been checking this forum and ideally we%26#39;d like to try the Thousand Islands but as time will be limited we will look to confine ourselves just to Jakarta.

I%26#39;ve looked at the Alila Hotel which may be ok but would prefer quality accommodation that%26#39;s just a little casual - don%26#39;t need business facilities or restaurants but would like a nice pool .... and preferably in an apartment/bungalo style.

Can anybody assist? Thanks for your help.

Alila? Have you read the review in TripAdvisor page regarding this hotel?

In my personal opinion, it%26#39;s really having business atmosphere. It may have great view from top floor rooms, but the lack of greenery around the hotel makes it look deserted for leisure traveller.

For approx the same rates, you can check out Crowne Plaza Jakarta. This hotel is not too close to other buildings, still in the city, quite nice swimming pool, and it has infamous all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant onsite.

For apartment-type, back-to-back with Crowne Plaza is The Aryaduta Suites Semanggi offering all apartment-type room, from 1 bedroom to 3 bedrooms. All eating outlets, night clubs, and leisure activities can easily be reached by taxi (there%26#39;s also a moderate shopping mall in the corner of both Crowne Plaza and Aryaduta Suites and upscale shopping mall and entertainment center is less than 10 mins away).

I would suggest the Pondok Putri Duyung Cottage Resort Hotel. It%26#39;s nothing fancy but is located on the seafront in the Ancol recreation area. It has the sort of holiday atmosphere that it sounds like your looking for. You could look out at the ocean and pretend your in the thousand islands.
