Is July the best time for my 1st trip?

My hubby %26amp; i plan to visit JKT from 1-3.7.09 with our son who%26#39;s gonna be 1 y.o. in July. After reading this forum we think Le Grandeur might be the best place for us. My questions are:-

a) when is school holiday in JKT? if possible, we%26#39;d like to avoid visiting during peak time. Or is it still ok to go during that time?

b) is it true we shd avoid going during weekends as traffic will be less congested during weekdays.

b) where can we shop for CDs (indonesian singers/bands)? Last time we did ask a friend to buy for us a number of CDs but she told us it%26#39;s not easy to get. Any suggestion where to look for?

a) June/July is the school holiday in Indonesia. Family attractions (such as theme park, zoo, water park) will be more packed than usual, but they always have promotions during this period. So if can, plan to visit these places on weekdays rather than weekends.

b) depending on where you%26#39;re heading on weekends. If you want to have a trip to Puncak/Bandung, it%26#39;s better to avoid weekend. But if you just want to travel around the town during weekend, it tends to be lesser traffic, especially on Sunday.

c) All Indonesian albums (original one) can be purchased at authorized music stores. Pirated version can be purchased at many fake DVD seller around Mangga Dua area (shopping center next door from Le Grandeur). Just browse around...

wow, thanks a lot cirque... didn%26#39;t expect to get almost an immediate reply! My last visit to JKT was in 2006 with a group of very elderly people. It%26#39;s a 3D 2N visit to JKT/Bandung. The agenda for 1st %26amp; 2nd day was shopping shopping %26amp; more shopping at Tanah Abang %26amp; Mangga Dua. The only historical place we managed to go was Tugu Monas. We left quite late for Bandung %26amp; it was Friday so we got stranded in heavy traffic for hours! Reached hotel at Puncak around 11pm %26amp; had to leave early morning to catch our flight to KUL. So I didn%26#39;t manage to see or buy anything at Puncak/Bandung!! I really hope that friends in this forum could give ideas how/where should I spend this precious 3D 2N visit to JKT/Bandung with my hubby %26amp; baby.

Looks like 1-3 July falls on Wednesday to Friday, so maybe Puncak won%26#39;t get too packed (except if there%26#39;s any public holiday fall on the period).

As you%26#39;ve been to Jakarta before, maybe you can plan your itinerary first because you know better of where you want to do in this holiday.

Then if you have any doubt, you can always ask through this forum...

No need to worry much about food. Almost all food you%26#39;ll find are halal.

Restaurants that served non-halal food will put a notice at the entrance/menu.

If you%26#39;re unsure, just check the halal logo.
