Drive around coast of Bali in a day??????

Hi everyone,

My husband and I have been to Bali a few times. We have seen all the usual tourist spots. Wondering if it was worth driving around the whole island and can you do it in a day? Any recommendations for out of the way spots to see? This time we are staying in Sanur.

You could probably do it if you focused and were in a hurry. I think you would return home knackered.

You could always drive past Candidasa area to around the bat cave and over to Lovina in a day. Also visit the history museum at KlungKlung. Its still a long drive.

We have done a trip from Sanur to Tanah Lot up through the middle of the island through the rice terraces, Lake Bratan,up to Git Git Waterfall, right up to the north coast then back around the east coast to Sanur. We stopped at Tanah Lot, The rice terraces (only for about 5 mins), Lake Bratan for about half hour, Git Git for over an hour and Amed for a very late lunch/early dinner (another hour) at about 4pm.

This trip took 12 hours, with the last 2-3 hours in the dark.

This was before the new road to Amed up the east coast. That would probably cut an hour of at the end, dependant on traffic on the new road.

If you drove around the whole island without stopping you may be able to do it in 12 hours.

To drive up through the middle takes 2 hours from Kuta. If you go via the East coast it%26#39;s 3 hours. To go from Kuta up the west coast is 5 hours. And that%26#39;s not seeing the south areas.

Why would you want to? Pick the areas you like and go there. I%26#39;d go up the centre through Lake Bratan. If you want to see things and enjoy them, that%26#39;s a day.

Stay in Lovina then travel down the East coast the next day.

Agree with Catalyst. Break the drive up. We have gone back to visit all those places again, because we were too rushed the first time. We would not do that trip again in one go.
