My husband and I are looking at travelling to Jakarta as we can get some cheap flights from Perth. We have both never been to this region before and was wondering if anyone could recomend a mid priced hotel with nice pool central jakarta near tourist spots? Thanks for any information, there are that many hotels I do not know where to start.
Jakarta holiday
I good place to start is www.accorhotels.com. They have 11 hotels in Jakarta.
You good try the Ibis Kemayoran, or Ibis Tamarin. The hotels are similar but the Ibis Tamarin is more centrally located. Don%26#39;t be put off by the Ibis name. Ibis in Indonesia are much much more upmarket than the ones in Australia.
The Mercure Hotel Rekso Hayam Wuruk is more upmarket and well located too.
If you have any more questions just ask.

For location and budget, I highly recommend Ibis Tamarin Hotel based on some facts:
1. It has swimming pool (Ibis Arcadia, a sister hotel across the street does not have swimming pool).
2. Located in central Jakarta, and the hotel is really in the middle of everything (food, shopping, sightseeing, etc)
3. The price is quite good for 3 star; around Rp500,000 per night (less than AUD100).
However, if you have more budget (say around AUD150 per night), you can stay nicely in a 4 star hotel. For that category I suggest Crowne Plaza Jakarta.
Yes the Ibis Tamarin Is about Rp. 435,000 or less than AU$60.
Can you please tell me where you came accross good deals for flight tickets from Perth to Jakarta?
I bet it must be Jetstar (Qantas stopped flying this route and give it to Jetstar). With Jetstar, return trip will cost around AUD200 per person during promotional period.
With Garuda, you need to fork more than AUD500 return trip.
Thanks a lot!!!
Please do feel to let me know if you get to know about any promotion offers!!
Hi there yes it was jetstar was going to cost 447.38 return for the two of us sale i think ended last night.
Yes, now the standard price from Jetstar goes for around AUD400 per person return. These guys hardly put any commercial ads on local newspaper (in Indonesia), so you need to check their website regularly for sale/promotions.
