Dear Friends,
I will visit Jakarta in late May with my wife and 2 kids (2 and 8 years). I am planning to stay in Ibis Tamarin due to it%26#39;s location.
While trying to book the room at Ibis website, they ask about number of adults staying in the room but do not ask about children.
But my question is, will the hotel give me an extra bed for my 8 year old son and how much they charge for the extra bed? Is there enough space in the room put this bed? Or do I have to book 2 rooms, which will be quite expensive.
Anyone who stayed in this hotel with kids or know about this hotel, please respond.
Warmest regards.

Staying in Ibis Tamarin with kidsHi there,
The Ibis Hotels in Jakarta is known to have a quite compact room and through their internet booking, you can only book a room for 2 adults only, however, they can accommodate 1 child for free (breakfast at 50%) and the kid need to sleep in the same bed (double or twin, based on your preference).
I suggest you to call the hotel first and ask how to book a room with extra bed.
Staying in Ibis Tamarin with kidsHi Cirque, Thanks for your kind response. I have two kids, so really need a triple room or an extra bed. Could you please suggest any other hotel near Ibis Tamarin that have triple room or can give us an extra bed? My budget is Singapore $60-100/night, we just need a clean room with good aircon.
Regards.

Hi,
Ibis Tamarind or Ibis Arcadia are probably the best-located budget hotel in the city center. Many others are located nearby, but it will require more walking to get to main attractions.
Some other hotel you might consider:
Paragon Gallery Hotel
Treva International Hotel
Hotel Sofyan Betawi
On the other side of the street, you can get slightly better upgrade at:
1. Millennium Sirih Jakarta (a group of Millennium Copthorne Hotel)
Although it%26#39;s not the best 4-star hotel in jakarta, or has new furnishings and best service, but definitely better than Ibis standard). The location is on the other side of the street from Ibis.
2. Hotel Manhattan www.hotel-manhattan.com
Their %26#39;princess%26#39; room suits your budget. This is a relatively new hotel located at Kuningan area - office blocks and embassies area. Though the location is not that strategic, but has minimalist %26amp; modern design.
Since you%26#39;ve decided the area of where you want to stay, maybe you can consider the first 4 properties (excld. Manhattan) that I%26#39;ve mentioned
Hi Cirque,
Thanks a lot. You are the best.
I will stay in Hotel Sofiyan, they are offering executive room for Rp475,000. Sounds pretty reasonable, right?
Cheers.

Yes that price is OK.
Don%26#39;t expect Ibis style international d茅cor or service, however.
Thanks Camsean.
As long the room is clean and good air con, I am ok.
I hope there are some good restaurents around to enjoy great Indonesian food.
You guys in Jakarta forum are really goood. Appreciate all your input.
Regards.

You can find many restaurants around the hotel. If you walk towards Jalan Sabang (it%26#39;s also known as food street - my version) since you can find various restaurants and food stalls by the street. The food stalls sell Indonesian hawker food such as bakso (meatballs), satay (we call it %26#39;sate%26#39;), gado-gado (mix veggies with peanut sauce), and gorengan (mixed fritters). Amongst the restaurants there including Padang food, Lebanese restaurant, fast food franchise, etc...
You can also find various foods at food court inside many malls...
Oh Cirque,
I am drooling already.
Regards.
