Which Hotel??

Hi All

Hopefully going to Bali this year. I鈥檓 a little concerned about aircraft noise, considering the location of the airport in relation to most of the hotels listed below.

So I鈥檓 hoping that someone will be able to give me first hand knowledge on this aspect.

Also

Which hotel has the best beach as the family spent most of the day there instead of round a pool.

You may think why have I listed these Hotels? It鈥檚 quite simply because they are all with one agent here in the UK., 鈥楳ercury Direct鈥?/p>

Club Bali Mirage, Benoa Beach

Jayakarta Beach Resort, Legian

Bali Tropic Resort and Spa, Nusa Dua

A Grand Mirage Resort and Thalasso Bali, Nusa Dua

Sanur Beach, Sanur

Which Hotel??

No aircraft noise in Sanur. You may get a little if you stay in Tuban or Jimbaran, both of which border the airport (it%26#39;s actually quite nice to sit on Jimbaran Beach and watch the planes, and it%26#39;s not that noisy).

Which Hotel??

thanks for a quick response.

although it is nice to see the planes the wife will not want to here them.

is the beach all sand or a mix of coral etc?

In Sanur? There%26#39;s a coral reef offshore which the waves crash against, so you do get some broken coral on the beach and underfoot in the sea (the reef actually creates a lovely shallow lagoon off the beach). The sand is golden and a little coarse there.

On the west coast, so Kuta/Legian/Seminyak, you have brown sand and big crashing waves, suitable for surfing. Jimbaran probably has the best sand, it%26#39;s more golden and powdery, but you%26#39;re close to the airport if this is a problem for the missus. Jimbaran is well known for it%26#39;s seafood restaurants on a night, all the restaurants set up tables and chairs on the beach, all candle lit - great sunsets.

I%26#39;ve missed one off the list which is%26#39;Aston Bali Resort and Spa Benoa%26#39;

The sanur beach has over four hundred rooms which I did not realise, I think it will be a little too big and impersonel where as the Aston is less than two hundred so I%26#39;m veering more to that one! so if you or anyone ellse has some info I%26#39;d be grateful.

We have stayed at the Sanur Beach, Sanur. Great breakfast, very nice pool. Super SPA. Also the Bamboo Bar on the beach has happy hour and music and the seat around the bar are swings. The hotel is right on the beach, I don%26#39;t know how the water is, didn%26#39;t go in. Pool, eat, shop, drink, tour, pool, eat, shop, drink, sleep John

Hi Jon

sounds great but I%26#39;m a guy with four women around me I%26#39;ve a funny feeling I%26#39;ll be out voted

Peter

Since your are going to be surrounded by 4 women, my wife said to mention the best dress shop in Sanur - Pisces. We have been to Bali 3 times and we have bought from there at least 6 times - that not a typo, we buy and then we have to go back to buy again. If you get a chance definitely go to Ubud. We have used the same driver for 3 years and he has been fantastic. Merta his email
