Can anyone recommend some local restaurants rather than western. We will be staying at Canggu so realise most restaurants will be a taxi ride but any nearby to Canggu would be appreciated too. Thanks

If you are staying in Canggu then the nearest restaurants would be The Loop which is not far from the Canggu Club, The Beach House at Echo Beach, Lestari at Umulas stables - these are all western style restaurants which do also serve some Indonesian dishes but the very best local restaurant closest to you would be Warung Sobat in Batubelig - wonderful seafood and other dishes for a fraction of the price found elsewhere. Bookings are essential and it is closed on Saturday nights (!) It is only a short taxi drive from Canggu.
