Day trips from Tanjung Benoa

Hi

My wife to be and I will be on honeymoon in Bali later this year, staying at the Aston Bali in Tanjung Benoa. We both can%26#39;t wait - Bali looks stunning and all you guys on the forum consistently say very good things about the place!

We%26#39;re looking to spend one of the days with a driver, exploring some of the sights and experiences of Bali. We wanted to get some recommendations for this - what is worth seeing for a day out, within reach of where we are staying?

Any assistance from you Bali afficionados is appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi and congratulations on you honeymoon!

Tanjung Benoa is near the Nusa Dua resort (its hard to tell the difference).

Best option is to hire a driver for the day and visit the sites - TA has a subjective list of drivers, the going price right now is about 350,000-450,000 rp, negotiable with/without petrol. If you book a driver through your hotel you will pay a lot more for nothing extra.

Some suggestions to visit:

Uluwatu

Tanah Lot

Ubud

Monkey Forrest

Rafting

Kintamani/lake district

Shopping at Seminyak/Legian/Kuta

Culture museum in Denpasar

Bat cave

John Hardy factory

This list would take a few days to check out.

When are you going?

Hi Mobor One - we%26#39;re going at the beginning of September for 10 days.

Incidentally, how much impact does everyone think Ramadan will have on our holiday?

Thanks again

There will be minimal or no impact on Bali due to Ramadan. Its a Hindu island (with lots of muslims living there too).

The one impact are Indonesian holidays - the end of Ramadan is called Idul Fitri. Its like Christmas holidays in the Christian world. Bali fills up with Indonesian tourists, so the roads get quite congested and the fish cafes get crowded. Other than not much impact.
