There%26#39;s some info at www.itravelindonesia.com/money.htm

At the lower end of the scale, you will be able to find airconditioned rooms for about USD 25 with pool.

Outside South Bali, your dollar buys you a lot more. Lots of lovely hotels in the USD 25 price range.

As for food, it really depends on whether you want to spend USD2 in a warung or want something fancier. If you enjoyed khow phat and don%26#39;t mind a nasi goreng diet, you will get by on USD 1 per meal.

i find that phuket and bali are similar for prices BUT bali has the edge and is cheaper. accommodation prices have increased this year in bali and depending on what you want a lot of budget places are now around $30 - $45US including brekky. there are some good places that charge in rupiah. some %26#39;homestays%26#39; are cheaper. imported alcohol is not cheap but you can take your duty free and buy some coke etc from the supermarkets or circle K convenience stores. for drinks, food, shopping for t shirts, sarongs etc expect phuket prices. when you are looking for a restaurant check the menu out the front which will have prices and will indicate if tax and service charge is included. some restaurants have high prices but the majority are very good prices.
