27 hour journey time to bali arggghhhh

Both times we have been to Bali we went biz class.

If you cant afford that I suggest a stopover in both directions. You can catch a variety of carriers with routes that make a stop over easy.

Last time we flew Emirates and stopped in Dubai for a few nights. The previous time we flew direct to Bangkok.

A ten hour stopover would be purgatory for me. Not enough time to do anything and too long for a break.

A little tongue in cheek here but just keep focused on being in Bali and that first cold Bintang beer!

Sorry not to have been of any great help.

Cheers,

David

lol cant afford bizz class. need the cheapest way of getting there...

is a bit of a killer a 10 hour stop over

Hi Space

SIA normally offer a night%26#39;s stopover for the same ticket price. They also offer some good hotel deals. If you%26#39;ve got the time that might be a way of breaking up the journey without wandering around aimlessly and killing time in town.

Hi Space123,

Just done a similar trip via Singapore, we had a 1 hour stop on the way back, but felt it was too short a gap between flights so we changed our return leg from bali to sin to a earlier flight and used the transit hotel in terminal 1, the rooms are fine with tea coffee facilities, comfy bed if you want a kip and a swimming pool on the roof, with a bar and smoking area if you need one, for the room it is about 35 GBP for a six hour stay, which includes use of the pool(they supply the towels just have your cozzys in hand luggage) you can also pay approx £7.00 for use of the pool only, we found it very relaxing before the 14hr trip back to the uk.

If you book the transit hotel be careful to book T 1 not Terminal 3 (no pool)it takes about 5 mins from t3 or t2 to T1.

If we can be any help just PM me

Regards and have a great time Graham B

I%26#39;ve managed to get flights for around 550GBP with Malaysian Air through STA. Malaysian air now offer online booking as well.

Oh it%26#39;s good. I%26#39;ve done the England to Bali trip many times, both with long layovers in the airport and getting a connecting flight straight away.

After the 12 hour flight to Singapore, you%26#39;re usually exhausted, with red eyes that would make Dracula proud. Singapore Airport has an excellent transit hotel that books rooms out in a 6 hour block, so you could crash in the transit hotel (no need to go through immigration or get your luggage, this should be transferred to your onwards flight for you), get some sleep for a few hours, then get showered and head for your onwards flight. Plenty to do in Changi airport anyway as previously mentioned. Book the transit hotel well in advance, it%26#39;s popular.

Or if you%26#39;re one of those lucky people who can sleep on a flight, and you arrive in Singapore refreshed, I%26#39;d head into the city for a few hours to stretch your legs. There%26#39;s an MRT train station at the airport, only costs a couple of pounds to get into the city centre and takes about 30 mins. Or a taxi will cost you about eight pounds and takes roughly the same amount of time.

If you just want to freshen up in the airport, there are showers in the transit hotels you can use, for about four pounds you rent a shower and towel.

cheers guys, thinking about it.. it would be a little holiday to spend some hours in singapore as well.

breaks up flying time too.

thanks again

If you%26#39;re there in September, you may even catch the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Singapore Air offers an Executive Economy class (not business but better than coach) on non-stop flights from Newark %26amp; LA to Singapore. Not sure if they have something similar from the UK. I%26#39;ve heard China Air offers much better prices and then folks upgrade.

The flight is long to be sure but I%26#39;ve traveled it several times and it took even longer as I%26#39;m from the Midwest USA so have to first take two flights to get to NYC! And, my 9 year old daughter came with me and would go again in a heartbeat.

I%26#39;ve stayed in Singapore overnight a couple times... it does take the edge off. I prefer to do so on the way home though. When I am off to Bali, I just want to get to heaven as soon as possible.
