Just wondering what are the most interesting places to visit if we had the use of a driver and car for the day? We are staying in Legian.

four directions

up west coast - tanah lot, sangeh, etc

along bukit - uluwatu, surf spots, great views, nusa dua, sanur, etc

up east coast - padangbai, bat cave, candidasa, aga village, etc

mountains - ubud, batur or danau bratan, etc

etc meaning that there are heaps of other things to see along the way

Hiring car for day, what to see?

Start the morning by driving to Batu to catch the 9am performance of the Barong/ Rangda dance performance.

Next, drive up to Batur to see the volcanic lakes. Lots of lunch places will offer all you can eat buffets on the crater wall.

Next, drive down to Ubud. Visit the Monkey Forest and potter around Arma.

If you still have the energy, visit Gunung Kawi. A short but uphill / downhill walk through padi fields to spectacular cave temples.

Finally...Tell the driver to drive you str8 to Jimbaran for a whopping seafood dinner on the beach.

Tiring day but my friends seem to enjoy it. I%26#39;ve done this trip loads of times (poor me).

Otherwise, head to Tulamben or Amed to snorkel. Its a beautiful drive via Tirtagannga ( terraced padi field views) . On your way back, you can visit Candidasa (temple) and Klungkung (museum and the Kherta Gosa).
