What mobile/cell phone networks are available in Bintan Resorts if any?

Assuming mobile/cell coverage is available, should I bear the inflated costs of roaming, or can I purcahse a prepaid SIM when in Bintan Resorts?

All the major ones, Telkomsel, Indosat, XL plus a few of the smaller ones, very good reception 3G/GPRS avail. Same as everywhere else re pricing in Indonesia so will obviously be much cheaper to use a local prepaid SIM. I think you will have to go into the village where all the staff live as not sure whether you can buy one of these at the resorts themselves.

Yes, as what chilled123 had mentioned, you are able to receive all the major Indonesia network. If you want to purchase the prepaid card, I%26#39;m not too sure if the hotel has it, but you may want to try looking for it at the local food center.

The hawker center is known as Pujas Sera and there is a little shop there called Aquarius where you can make phonecalls, surf the net and they should have the prepaid card over there. Hope it%26#39;s helpful.
