Kids too old?

We are planning a trip to Bali in the next 12 mths and are considering a stay at Bali Dynasty. Our kids will be 16, 14 and 12 at the time - are they too old for this resort? I know they will love any interaction with other kids and the pools /slide etc. Are there just way too many little kids and bigger ones get in the way? Can anyone suggest an alternative in the Sanur/Seminyak areas that would offer a similar experience. We will need interconnecting rooms or a 2brm place. Thanks for any help.

Kids too old?

kids clubs cater for children 4 - 12 yrs generally. the older children occupy themselves around the hotel pool and grounds. the dynasty states 4 - 12 yrs for the kids club. my children range from 4 - 20 and we don%26#39;t bother with kids clubs as they are all happy as long as there is a pool and a beach close by. they seem to occupy themselves and the older ones mix with the staff as well as other guests their age. there is so much to see and do in bali and often you are out and about more than sitting around the hotel all day. there are some good hotels in sanur but once again kids clubs within the hotels are for 3 or 4yr - 12 yr olds. there are other activities available at some hotels. eg the bali hyatt has a tennis court, a large outdoor chess set, fitness centre. some hotels have cooking classes and there are activities close by some hotels. eg in tuban near the bali dynasty there is waterbom park and ten pin bowling. another hotel with large cheap family rooms in tuban is the Febris hotel. rooms sleep up to 5.

what is your budget per night?

Kids too old?

Our budget is about $200-$250AUD per night. I don,t care about a kids club as only the youngest at 12 could use it and she will probably not want to ,but I do want to stay somewhere with other kids and a great swimming pool as this is what can make the holiday really enjoyable for my kids. I also don,t want all 5 of us in 1 room as it gets too crowded and offers no privacy. My main concern with Bali Dynasty is that my bigger ones would be in the way of the little ones. If there are also older kids then this won,t be a problem but i have never been so am unsure. Thanks

We stayed at the Dynasty last June. My kids were 6 and 11 at the time.

The majority of kids would have been under 12 years with the occassional older sibling. Maybe older kids were staying there but they didn%26#39;t tend to hang around the pool area.

Providing your kids are not too rough and are cautious around smaller children, I don%26#39;t think it would be a problem.

Any activities that go on around the pool have children of all ages participating and the staff match the kids according to size when competing in tug of war etc. There is also an afternoon water volley ball game that is run that is purely for older kids and adults.

Hope this helps.

Thanks , that gives me lots to think about. It is the unintentionally being too rough part that concerns me. My eldest will want to be in the pool a lot and as he is already 6ft 3,he can very easily hurt a child by just playing and not meaning to.

Dixiemum,

Hi, we are going late July for 2 weeks with our kids aged 16, 14 %26amp; 12. 2nd time for the kids 6th time for the parents. Always stay at the Dynasty in the family suite which sleeps 5, check out their website which has pictures of the rooms. Our kids love the pool and although there are lots of kids of all ages around the hotel most of the smaller kids tend to hang around the kids pool and water slide, near the kids club. There is so much to do in and around Bali that we dont spend a huge part of our holiday around the pool, however when we do our kids have a ball and pretty much everyone there has kids of their own so more tolerant than some other resorts. If it fits your budget I say go for it.

Regards, Steve

We went to the dynasty 3 years ago our kids where aged 14, 12, 11, 9 and they NEVER used the kids club we stayed at kuta paridiso the first 4 nights and they loved it, just being there and all the things you can do in Bali
